The International Specialized Exhibition of Raw Materials, Machinery, Technology, Leather, and Related Industries of Iran’s Shoe Industry, MATREX, is one of the most important events in this industry held in Qom city
The unveiling of the poster for the International Exhibition of Raw Materials, Machinery, Technology, Leather, and Related Industries of Iran’s Shoe Industry, MATREX, took place on Thursday, the 8th of Shahrivar. The event was attended by industry pioneers and veterans, the president and members of the board of directors of Qom Chamber of Commerce, the head of the National Polymer Industries Association of Iran, the president and board members of the Iranian Shoe Industry Society, board members of the Iranian Natural Leather Association, the Association of Synthetic Leather, and the Union of Shoemakers of Islamshahr, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of machinery and raw materials from across the country.
Javad Shabanzadeh, the president of the Mechanical Shoe Industry Association of Qom province and the head of the organizing committee for MATREX and Qom Shoex, announced: After the successful and widely attended Qom Shoex exhibition this year, we will host the extensive shoe industry family in two exhibitions: one for machinery, raw materials, and related industries from Aban 30 to Azar 3, and the other for shoes, sandals, and fashion industry (Qom Shoex) from Dey 26 to Dey 29. He emphasized that consultations and surveys have been conducted with industry leaders and manufacturers, stating: Related industries need special support, and this concern led to the formation of MATREX exhibition. Shabanzadeh also said: We will hold this exhibition with a national perspective, which is why the exhibition’s title emphasizes ‘Iran-Qom.’
The president of the Mechanical Shoe Industry Association of Qom also reminded: Qom province has significant talent and capacity in the production, development, localization, and knowledge-based advancement of related shoe industries. The province’s managers, recognizing that the Qom shoe industry is clean, low-water-consuming, job-generating, culturally compatible, and suitable for the Qom climate, will welcome esteemed domestic and foreign investors. He highlighted the importance of transitioning active production companies in the shoe industry towards knowledge-based ventures, stating: This will be realized through the managerial efforts of governmental and private sector officials.
The head of the exhibition organizing committee also mentioned the cultural dimensions of the exhibition, stating: We are striving to establish the production of culture-based products in the field of shoe industry design and modeling, focusing on the Iranian family.
Hajj Vali Rezaei, one of the pioneers and veterans of the Iranian shoe industry, emphasized the importance of organizing this exhibition, noting: 3,200 types of materials from related industries are imported into the shoe industry from abroad. Organizing MATREX exhibition will lead to localization, knowledge-based development, technology transfer, and reduced reliance on foreign sources
